This is an important lesson to remember when you’re having a bad day, a bad month, or a shitty year. Things will change: you won’t feel this way forever. And anyway, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your soul needs most. I believe you can’t feel real joy unless you’ve felt heartache. You can’t have a sense of victory unless you know what it means to fail. You can’t know what it’s like to feel holy until you know what it’s like to feel really fucking evil. And you can’t be birthed again until you’ve died.”
― Kelly Cutrone

ImageEverything I’ve learned and everything that’s ever happened I turned into mental notes for the future as well as the present. Every single thing that happens we learn from, you stick your hand in flames you learn that you get burned. Life is nothing but a learning process if you sit back and observe your surroundings or even sit back and observe yourself you learn a lot, you may go “oh I never knew I had a mole there, or a light spot here.” We pick and choose what we want to hear and see and what lessons we choose to learn from. If I try to ride a bike with one training wheel and the first few times I fall but I continue to do it that means I’m choosing to be blind to what’s in front of me. Sometimes we have to take different routes to get to the goals we set because not everything happens how we may want it to. It’s hard for people to learn from mistakes or just learn in general when they are so set in their ways not willing to change but you have to remember life is also about change. The weather changes, people wake up in different moods, the time changes, everything around us changes and you can miss a lot when you’re walking through life with your eyes closed. We will always make mistakes because we are human and we will fall many times. If we learn the lessons embedded then we will get back up and try again until that hidden message is memorized and you no longer make the same mistakes and you can fall seven times and stand up eight.

We make messes of our lives, but every now and then, we manage to do something that’s exactly right. The challenge is figuring out which is which.” ― Jodi Picoult

So when you’re down and out and nothing is going your way don’t focus on how things can be worse, focus on how they can be better. Think about how you can make the change you want to see in yourself because the change starts with you. There’s always a lesson to be learned and with each lesson you learn more and more about yourself and the world that we live in.

If given the chance, everyone has a story to tell. My name is Breyana I'jae, I am a 25 year old Temple University Psychology graduate, blogger, visionary, artist, creator, self published author, mama, jack of all trades, and lover of many things.
When I first started this blog in 2013 my goal was to share My Story in hopes of inspiring someone else, I didn't know where it would go, how people would perceive it or what to really do, I just know I lived by the motto, Uplift, Empower, & Inspire.

While those goals still remain my blog will now be a place to promote self-love and self-care but that's not all. Come take a look to see what it offers.
