I’m sure we have all had something that we really wanted, or something that we wanted to participate in, achieve, etc. We have all had a dream of obtaining something or one day becoming a CEO, singer, wealthy or attending our dream school. My point is that we all have dreams, we all have an ideal self and are working to become that person. It is important that we always chase our dreams even when we are told “No” or “You can’t do it”. No one knows what you are truly capable of but you and sometimes we surprise ourselves. I’ve had many dreams that have been shot down, I couldn’t go to my #1 college choice even though I got accepted because they offered me no money. I couldn’t study abroad last semester even though I got accepted once again because of finance issues. One thing I learned is that new dreams blossom from those that never got the chance to grow. I was put down but I got back up and made it work with what I was given. I looked at the positives and realized that Temple gave me a scholarship for the 4 years I am there. I looked in the mirror and told myself to keep trying and one day I will be able to study abroad, I applied again and got accepted.
With failures and let downs comes the motivation to try even harder. I can be told “No” many times but if it’s something that I want I will keep working towards it. It is said that Taurus stubbornly cling to their own ideas and habits, they are bull-headed. This is true I won’t deny it, I am very stubborn and sometimes stuck in my ways when it comes to my beliefs and things that I want. It’s not because I am trying to prove a point but I know that if I want something that it is very hard to stop me from getting or attempting to get it. That’s just me, and if it that means that I will keep chasing my dreams and goals because of it then so be it.
Not everyone will understand your dreams or necessarily see the same future that you see. It’s important to never let anyone hinder your dreams and success, you will never get anywhere if you try to satisfy others or live the life that they want you to live. If you focus too much on what people have to say then you are already wasting time that can’t be made up, just remember “A lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinion of a sheep.” Know who you’re talking to and the value of their opinion regarding yourself.
