When Jesus walked on this earth, He took time for Himself. He got away from the crowds. He spent time with the Father. That’s how He found rest. He was gentle and humble in heart. Do you ever notice that when you are stressed out or worrying about something, you’re less tolerant of others? You’re more likely to say something you don’t really mean. Today, God wants you to cast your cares on Him and live with a gentle and humble attitude. When you release your burdens and follow the example of Jesus, you will find rest for your soul. You will be rejuvenated and refreshed! You will find peace in your heart, and you will move forward in the abundant life God has for you!”

Ways to Eliminate Stress/Burdens

1) Exercise

Exercise is not only good for the body but for a sense of well-being. Being active helps release stress and distracts you from the things you may be worrying about.

– It’s “meditation in motion”, while you are exercising you are focusing solely on the task at hand which is your body movement taking your mind off of everything else.

– It improves your mood – exercise can help improve sleep which is often times disrupted by stress and anxiety.

2) Reduce/Eliminate Caffeine (Drink more water!)

High amounts of caffeine can lead to health problems and can cause mood swings as well as sleep problems. Having small amounts on the other hand can lift your mood and give you a boost but it’s best to keep it at a minimum.

3) Listen to Music

Music is a great way to deal with life’s burden, not only is it an escape but it can put you in a relaxing state of mind. It also acts as a distraction but at the same time can provoke one to explore their emotions.

4) Remind yourself what’s important to you

You have to ask yourself if what you are stressing about is really worth it and if it will even be important in the next hour or so. If it’s something that needs to be dealt with come up with a solution to tackle that problem.

5) Take ten deep breaths (Breathe, stretch, shake, let it go!)

Taking a deep breath and calming yourself when you’re on the verge of losing it can really help bring your level of anxiety down. I know this from experience because there have been times when I’ve wanted to punch a few walls but you have to remain calm and take it easy before you overexert your body.

6) Remember to be patient with yourself and others

Patience is key! Often times we are impatient with ourselves without realizing it and this can be with personal growth, work, etc. Everything is a work in progress and sometimes things just take a while so remember to be patient.

7) Get a good night’s sleep

Getting the right amount of sleep will always be important because we all know what a cranky person looks like and no one wants to deal with them. The better sleep you have the better mood you will be in.

8) Take positive action

Think positive, be positive, do positive things!

9) Turn large projects into smaller ones

Turning a big project into smaller ones gradually will really remove some weight off of your shoulders. It’s better than waiting until the last minute and having to do so much in a short period of time.

10) Do something nice for someone

You would be surprised at how making someone else’s day can improve your own. Try going out of your way to put a smile on someones face. Don’t put everyone else in a bad mood just because you may not be feeling the best. 🙂

11) Have faith and pray

Whether you believe in God or a higher power have faith in yourself and whatever it is that you believe in because without faith nothing is possible.

Overall, live every second as if it were your last. Be blessed and stay humble.

When I first started this blog in 2013 my goal was to share My Story in hopes of inspiring someone else, I didn't know where it would go, how people would perceive it or what to really do, I just know I lived by the motto, Uplift, Empower, & Inspire.

While those goals still remain my blog will now be a place to promote self-love and self-care but that's not all. Come take a look to see what it offers.
