The New Month Mood?

Hey guys welcome back to the blog! It’s a new month and with new months usually comes new goals and new motivation. Just because it’s a new month doesn’t mean we’re all in the new month mindset. In fact, some of us might be feeling a little down, unmotivated, or simply uninterested in setting new goals and pursuing them or crossing off old goals we didn’t get a chance to achieve yet. Some don’t even set goals and find their motivation by just getting things done when they feel like it, but subconsciously we all have things we want to get done and things we plan to do whether big or small.

I’m one of those people who weren’t necessarily in the new month mindset when the month rolled in. For one, it came at the end of the week and work has been a little hectic as of lately. I do Behavioral Health Work inside of a school with 1st – 4th grade and boy oh boy do those children give you a run for your money. Nevertheless I still made it a goal to blog but the 1st came and went, I told myself Sunday night I’d write and I was actually quite motivated until I sat down for a while and got tired and all the motivation went out the window. But here it is Tuesday morning and I’m choosing to write while on my way into work.

Sometimes things call for our focus so we can’t dedicate time to some of the other things we’d like to. At times I find myself upset because I couldn’t cross a goal off but really there’s no need to be upset about it because I know it will get done just not at the time I planned. A checked off goal is better than leaving it incomplete or not done at all. So don’t feel like your month is starting off wrong if you don’t find yourself in an upbeat mood or with a list of goals. Having a good day or making it a habit to think positively is a good enough. Although it’s unrealistic to have a good day every single day, how you internalize things are always important. When it comes to goals my motto is, the only thing that matters is how things end, not how they start. Even some of the most amazing masterpieces started off with a rough draft. So let’s make things happen on our own pace this month! Don’t let anyone or anything make you feel like you have to be at a certain point or doing something that you aren’t and can’t do right now. Take your time and get things done how you deem fit.

I get the whole sentiment of pushing motivation on people each week and every month because often times we truly need it. Hearing it or seeing it from other people can be beneficial when we can’t motivate ourselves. But it’s also important to realize that at times no matter how many motivational post we see or motivational speeches we see it just doesn’t click and that’s okay. Life happens, we’re allowed to have those up and down moments because like I said it only matters how things end so what matters is how you bounce back! So here’s to a month of rebuilding, finding that motivation, and thinking positively.

If you walk into a new month with the same mindset and that mindset isn’t necessarily a good one, let yourself be great and develop a new mood and mindset when you feel ready, no pressure.

If given the chance, everyone has a story to tell. My name is Breyana I'jae, I am a 25 year old Temple University Psychology graduate, blogger, visionary, artist, creator, self published author, mama, jack of all trades, and lover of many things.
When I first started this blog in 2013 my goal was to share My Story in hopes of inspiring someone else, I didn't know where it would go, how people would perceive it or what to really do, I just know I lived by the motto, Uplift, Empower, & Inspire.

While those goals still remain my blog will now be a place to promote self-love and self-care but that's not all. Come take a look to see what it offers.
